erman Defense Minister Boris Pistorius made the announcement, signaling continued support for Ukraine's defense efforts.
The PzH 2000, which boasts a range of 50 kilometers, first entered service with the Ukrainian Armed Forces in 2022. In total, Ukraine has received 14 PzH 2000 howitzers from Germany, alongside additional units supplied by the Netherlands and Italy. In addition, eight units have been provided as "donors" for spare parts.
In February 2024, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz confirmed that 18 more PzH 2000 self-propelled guns would be included in a future aid package, with delivery expected between 2026 and 2027. These howitzers, like the 12 newly announced, will be supplied from German industry rather than existing Bundeswehr stockpiles.
The continued provision of these advanced artillery systems underscores Germany's commitment to bolstering Ukraine’s defense capabilities amidst ongoing conflict.
