Germany Unblocks the Macrofin Tranche of €8 Bln for Ukraine

The minister of finance of Germany, in a conversation with the PM of Ukraine, agreed to facilitate the transfer of aid to Ukraine, which the European Union allocated at the beginning of June

The prime minister of Ukraine, Denys Shmyhal and the minister of finance of Germany, Christian Lindner, held a telephone conversation regarding Ukraine's financial needs. According to Denys Shmyhal, he agreed with Lindner on the assistance of Germany in the process of Ukraine receiving a macro-financial tranche of €8 billion.

"Germany has provided significant financial assistance to our state since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Russia. We count on Ukraine's firm support and cooperation with international partners. In particular, Germany supports the process initiated by Ukraine to postpone debt payments and launch a new special program with the IMF," Denys Shmyhal.

We remind you that the European Union has agreed to transfer another package of aid to Ukraine, which consists of €5 billion in loans and €3 billion in grants.
