The UN news portal reported that on June 26, 2023, the grain corridor coordination centre received 29 applications from international courts to transport Ukrainian agricultural products. However, none of them was approved. This and other events directly testify to the fact that Russia does not plan to fulfil the obligations assumed in the framework of signing the Grain agreements with the UN and Turkey.
"Unless new vessels appear under the Black sea initiative, a million or even more tons of food will be stuck in ports before July 17," UN deputy spokesman Farhan Haq.
Today, only 13 ships take part in the grain initiative, and in addition, Russia has excluded 1 out of 3 ports from the participants in the grain corridor — Chornomorsky. Haq called the grain corridor "a lifeline for food security on the planet," and "thanks" to Russian efforts to block the corridor, only 2 million tons of grain were exported last month.
