Greta Thunberg Arrived in Kyiv

On June 29, the International working group on Russian environmental crimes arrived in Ukraine

Volodymyr Zelenskyy and the International working group on Russian environmental crimes met in Kyiv recently. The group included consisting of Greta Thunberg, former VP and former MFA of Sweden Margot Wahlstrom, VP of the European Parliament Heidi Hautala, and the Irish president 1990-1997 Mary Robinson. The parties discussed ecocide, which Russia purposefully commits on the territory of Ukraine. In particular, the explosion of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station. The president recalled that countering ecocide is one of the postulates of the Peace formula.

"I am grateful for the support of our efforts and for the clear position: the aggressor must be held accountable for everything he has done against people and against nature, against life in general. All the destroyed lives and broken destinies, all the damage to nature, cities and villages, every loss due to this ecocide is the direct responsibility of the Russian state," Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

We remind you that after the Kakhovka tragedy, Greta condemned Russia's actions to create an ecological disaster in Ukraine, Europe, and the states sharing the sea with Ukraine.
