According to tradition, on September 19, Jews began a mass congress to celebrate Rosh Hashanah. Despite the war, 4000 hasids have already arrived in Ukraine for celebration. Such an event is annual — the pilgrims in September come to Ukraine from different parts of the world. Even despite the war, they didn't break the tradition and demonstrated faith in the armed forces of Ukraine.
In turn, the Ukrainian authorities intend to strengthen the protection of pilgrims who will come to celebrate Rosh Hashanah. The city will ban any mass events and sale of alcoholic beverages and pyrotechnic products. Also, until September 30, the control of the permit regime in the city and places of pilgrimage will be increased.
The Cherkasy regional council notes that Jews came to Ukraine even after an official warning of the danger from the security service of Ukraine.
