IMF Disbursements to Ukraine Surpass $10 Billion

Eight tranches delivered under the Extended Fund Facility bolster Kyiv’s fiscal stability

Key Figures

  • Total EFF Package: $15.5 billion

  • Funds Already Disbursed: $10.1 billion (eight tranches)

  • Next Mission Review: 20–27 May 2025

Current Status of IMF Funding

The Ministry of Finance of Ukraine confirmed that the state budget has received $10.1 billion through eight tranches of the International Monetary Fund’s Extended Fund Facility (EFF). This amounts to roughly two-thirds of the total $15.5 billion program approved for 2023-2027.

Upcoming EFF Mission

From 20 to 27 May, officials from:

  • the Ministry of Finance,

  • the National Bank of Ukraine, and

  • IMF experts

will assess progress on policy benchmarks and prepare for the eighth review of the Memorandum on Economic and Financial Policy.

IMF Outlook

  • Population Forecast: The IMF now projects Ukraine’s population will decline to 33.9 million by 2030.

  • War Scenario: The Fund’s baseline assumes hostilities will end in late 2025, guiding its economic projections and fiscal recommendations.

Looking Ahead

Continued compliance with EFF requirements will unlock the remaining $5.4 billion, supporting macroeconomic stability and reconstruction planning as Ukraine navigates wartime pressures and post-war recovery.
