In 2021 is 1.872 million tons higher than on January 6 this year and 7.5 million tons higher than last year in the same period.
In particular, wheat exports from Ukraine amounted to 16.3 million tons, which is 28% more than in the same period of 2021. Exports of the following cereals also increased:
- Barley – by 37%, up to 5.341 million tons;
- Corn – by 13%, up to 12.99 million tons.
146.800 tons of rye were also sold. This is ten times more than last year's figure of 1.7 thousand tons.
However, due to significant grain exports, Ukraine will be forced to import flour from Turkey, which will increase the price of bread products by at least a quarter.
The main reason for the situation is the uncontrolled sale of grain abroad, says agricultural expert Larysa Huk.
"Exporters managed to sign a memorandum with the authorities and received permission to export 25.3 million tons of wheat without division into food and feed," reported Larysa.
We would also like to remind you that in 2021 Ukraine has increased exports of agricultural products by 25%. The biggest contributor to this was the increase in grain sales.
