According to the State Statistics Service, the growth of industrial production in August was 0,6% ("plus" 0,2% in July 2021), taking into account the effect of calendar days — an increase of 0,2%.
"The growth of industry in August was formed by the continued impact of factors of general improvement in the economy, such as the impact of high conditions in foreign markets and the gradual recovery of demand for certain products in the domestic market. In particular, there was an increase in production in the processing industry - by 2,2%, while in the previous month there was a decrease of 1,8% ", commented the First Deputy Minister of Economy of Ukraine Volodymyr Hryniuk.
The largest contribution to the index of industrial products in August had investment-oriented activities, such as production of rubber and plastic products, other non-metallic mineral products, which accelerated growth to 12%, production of furniture, other products, repair and installation of machinery and equipment — up to 5, 5%, mechanical engineering — up to 5,1%.
In addition, the maintenance of favorable conditions on world markets for ferrous metals continues to contribute to the growth of metallurgical production — by 5,4%.
