This announcement was made by the Italian Minister of Defense, Guido Crozetto, during a meeting of the Special Group for the Mediterranean and the Middle East of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, as reported by La Stampa.
Guido Crozetto, in his statement on May 6, emphasized Italy's commitment to supporting Ukraine. "In the coming weeks, we will approve a new aid package for Ukraine so that it can continue to defend itself against Russia," he stated, highlighting the urgency of the situation.
The Italian defense minister also reiterated Italy’s stance on military involvement, clarifying that while Italy remains supportive of Ukraine, it does not intend to engage directly in any military conflict. This new aid package is a continuation of Italy's ongoing support in the face of Ukrainian adversities.
