On June 5, the British foreign secretary arrived in Kyiv and met with president Zelenskyy. On June 6, James Cleverly arrived at one of the mined fields in the Kyiv region. After the Russian occupation, a high quantity of Russian explosive devices remained in this part of Ukraine, and the field was fenced off. Today, the British demining team, The HALO Trust, works here. The minister got acquainted with the tasks of the humanitarian demining squad and, according to the British embassy in Ukraine, even tried to operate a demining robot.

High political representatives from other countries rarely stay overnight in Kyiv. And Cleverly's decision demonstrates the trust of the partner countries in the defence that Ukraine creates.
