After Russia blew up the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station, more than 88 settlements in the Kherson region were left without electricity. And the population of these cities and villages is still without houses, personal belongings, and many have lost their lives.
To help Ukraine partially recover from this tragedy, the Japanese government purchased 430 generators to restore power to the affected settlements in the region. According to the Kherson regional administration, the generators have already been received, and everything will be distributed among the towns. Very soon, it will be possible to turn on the light in these settlements again. In those houses that were not swept away by the flood.
Earlier, the KSE Institute, and the Ministries of economy and reconstruction of Ukraine calculated that the destruction of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station caused direct damage to Ukraine in the amount of $2 billion. The amount is not final.
