The Japan External Trade Development Organization (JETRO) is set to establish a representative office in Ukraine, following its registration by the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine. This development is seen as a strategic move that marks the beginning of enhanced trade and economic cooperation between Japan and Ukraine.
Taras Kachka, Ukraine's Deputy Minister of Economy and Trade Representative, highlighted that the opening of the JETRO office is a significant outcome of successful negotiations with the Japanese government. The initiative aims to create an attractive business environment in Ukraine, encouraging Japanese investments and fostering strong partnerships between Ukrainian and Japanese companies.
Japan has committed to providing $188 million for Ukraine's economic recovery projects, with a focus on energy, utilities, critical infrastructure, humanitarian demining, and business support. The establishment of the JETRO office is expected to accelerate the introduction of Japanese technologies in Ukraine and open new markets for Japanese products manufactured within the country.
JETRO, an independent administrative body under Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry, is dedicated to promoting trade and economic cooperation with countries around the world. The new office in Ukraine will play a pivotal role in facilitating economic recovery and enhancing bilateral trade ties between the two nations.
