Bloomberg writes that Estonia initiated a project of military support for Ukraine by all EU members. On February 20, the foreign ministers of the EU member-states will start discussing the issue of ammunition supply to Ukraine. The adopted decision will be transmitted to the leaders of the countries. In March, the leaders of the bloc will consider and decide at a joint meeting.
It is reported that Estonia invites the organisation's members to jointly purchase components of armament and military equipment for the Ukrainian army to strengthen its capabilities to confront Russia. Romania and the Netherlands have already supported the initiative.
The minister of defence of the Netherlands Kajsa Ollongren noted that the amount of ammunition was a problem for Ukraine. Other countries also need to increase combat capabilities, so the Estonian initiative is considered promising.
Recall that Poland earlier made a statement on considering the issue of coalition building. The group of countries will be engaged in financing and manufacturing of ammunition, weapons for Ukraine. The coalition is expected to include Poland, Estonia and France.
