The appointment was confirmed by State Department spokesperson Tammy Bruce during a briefing, noting that Davis will lead the U.S. diplomatic mission in Ukraine "at this critical moment, as we approach a peace agreement."
The decision was made by President Donald Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio. The State Department highlighted Davis’s extensive diplomatic background, including her leadership in several key international postings.
Her arrival in Kyiv comes amid intensified U.S.–Ukraine cooperation and ongoing high-level talks on long-term security and economic agreements.
