The Bank of Latvia has issued a collection coin dedicated to the freedom of Ukraine.
"Ukraine continues to fight for its freedom, as well as for the values of Western civilization, and therefore for our values. The coin is a reminder that one should not get tired and endure what is happening in Ukraine. The freedom of Ukraine is a shared responsibility," says the Bank of Latvia.
The design of the coin was developed by Ukrainian Serhii Maydukov. The word ВОЛЯ is written on the coin: in Ukrainian, it means "freedom, will, power". It is this word that is encrypted in the Ukrainian coat of arms — Tryzub.
Since December 15, the coin is available on the online portal. Everyone who buys a coin will provide Ukraine with not only moral but also material support.
For those who are interested in the history of the coat of arms of our state. The coat of arms of Ukraine, the Tryzub, is a sign of the Ukrainian princes of the Rurik dynasty, including Volodymyr the Great and Yaroslav the Wise (the latter is the father of Anna — the wife of the French King Henry I and Queen of France). The coat of arms is an image of a hunting falcon. In turn, the wings of the falcon repeat the lines of the letters В and Я, the tail and head of the falcon — О, and the tail — Л, forming the value of Ukraine — "ВОЛЯ".
Earlier, the United States launched a collection coin in support of Ukraine. And Estonia launched the "Ukrainian" coin into public circulation.
