According to UABIO — the Bioenergy Association of Ukraine — at the end of 2020, the total electrical capacity of cogeneration biogas plants amounted to about 105 MW. The total use of biogas was over 230 million cubic meters.
103,364 MW was fixed at a green tariff with a total production of 471,5 million kWh per year.
The statistics for 68 stations are as follows:
- 28 produce biogas from invest.com/investing-in-ukraine/business-opportunities/agricultural/" rel="dofollow">agricultural raw materials
- 27 run on biogas from solid waste landfills
- 9 produces biogas from anaerobic industrial wastewater treatment
- 1 produce biogas from municipal wastewater sludge
- 3 are designed to produce generator gas
The total consumption of raw materials is about 1,8 million tons, and the volume of digestate (the material remaining after the processing of biodegradable raw materials) is about 78 thousand tons.
Out of 50 green installations:
- 20 agro-commodity
- 27 on biogas from solid waste landfills
- 3 on generator gas
