Lithuania Delivers New Air Defense Systems to Ukraine

Lithuania has supplied portable anti-aircraft missile systems, along with a stock of missiles, to bolster Ukraine’s defensive capabilities

The Lithuanian Ministry of Defense announced this on the social network X.

“Lithuania continues to provide vital support for Ukraine’s defense. A new batch of modern portable anti-aircraft missile systems has arrived in Ukraine, strengthening its ability to resist Russia’s brutal aggression,”
the ministry stated.

According to an official press release quoted by Delfi, Lithuania’s primary focus this year has been addressing urgent needs such as air defense, ammunition, and drones, while also supporting the development of its own defense industry. Future plans include backing the Ukrainian defense sector by financing domestically produced weaponry in Ukraine.

Lithuania also intends to continue its leadership role in the Demining Coalition, co-led with Iceland, as well as in other allied initiatives. Additional commitments involve international funds and collective efforts, as well as continuing to train Ukrainian servicemembers and provide rehabilitation for the wounded.

To date, Lithuania has contributed more than €767 million in military aid since the war’s onset, with its total support exceeding €1.5 billion when considering long-term commitments. Notably, the country recently approved a €10 million tranche to finance the production of Ukraine’s long-range weapons. Earlier deliveries included M113 armored personnel carriers, which are already deployed at the front lines.
