Lithuanian Prime Minister Ingrid Šimonytė to Visit Ukraine This Week

Šimonytė’s visit underscores Lithuania’s continued support for Ukraine amid ongoing challenges.

Lithuanian Prime Minister Ingrid Šimonytė is set to visit Ukraine from Friday, August 23, until Sunday, August 25, according to reports from LRT. The details of her visit's program have not yet been disclosed.

This visit follows her previous trip to Ukraine in November last year, where she met with Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal to discuss support for Ukraine's energy sector. During that visit, the two leaders signed a joint declaration affirming Lithuania's support for Ukraine's aspirations for European and Euro-Atlantic integration.

In addition to Šimonytė's visit, other significant diplomatic engagements are expected in the region. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Poland on August 22, while German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and the presidents of Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania are expected to visit Moldova at the end of August
