Agenda and Key Outcomes of the Meeting
The primary focus was exploring diplomatic pathways towards achieving a peaceful resolution of the Russian-Ukrainian war. According to Andriy Yermak, this was the second gathering of its kind; the initial meeting was previously held in Paris.
The parties emphasized their continued commitment to peace efforts led by US President Donald Trump. They reaffirmed that a comprehensive and just peace remains their shared priority.
"We remain committed to President Trump's peace initiatives and appreciate the continued support from our international partners," said Andriy Yermak, head of the Ukrainian Presidential Office.
Despite these diplomatic efforts, participants highlighted Russia’s persistent refusal to agree to an unconditional ceasefire, emphasizing that Moscow is employing delay tactics and attempting to manipulate negotiations.
Plans for Continued Cooperation
A significant outcome of this London meeting was the agreement to hold regular consultations among coalition members, aiming to ensure ongoing coordination and effectiveness in diplomatic activities.
"We have agreed on further regular consultations, striving to achieve the ultimate goal: a just peace for Ukraine," Yermak stressed.
UK's Commitment to a Just Peace in Ukraine
British Foreign Secretary David Lammy underscored the UK's dedication to collaborating closely with the United States, Ukraine, and other European allies to secure a fair and enduring peace.
"We are working together with the United States, Ukraine, and our European allies to bring an end to the war and to secure a just and lasting peace," Lammy noted. He also expressed gratitude to the Ukrainian delegation for their ongoing cooperation and resilience during this critical moment for European security.
