Minister of defence of Luxembourg Francois Bausch said on Twitter that the country is ready to provide Ukraine with all possible support. At this stage, the ministry announced the transfer of the HMMWV. The SUV is designed in America and is in service. The military vehicle is built of armoured steel, has a 4x4 suspension, and can be used to mount weapons. But the HMMWV is most often used for cargo transportation.
"The Army Luxembourg and Ministry of defence support the Armed Forces of Ukraine by sending additional High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicles. These will strengthen Ukraine in exercising its right to self-defence. Luxembourg will support Ukraine for as long as it takes," Franсois Bausch.
The date and quantity of the shipment to HMMWV are not disclosed.
Luxembourg also announced that its army would join the training process to strengthen the Ukrainian armed forces. Recall that on November 14, the EU foreign ministers decided to conduct a military training mission for Ukrainian defenders. The training will involve 15.000 Ukrainian military personnel. This number of people is planned to be trained in at least 2 years, with funding of €106 million.
It should be noted that the government of Luxembourg, during the 9 months of the war, provided Ukraine with military assistance amounting to 15% of the defence budget of the state. This is precisely the case when even a small state can change history!
