“Make Dance, Not War”

A prosthetics Ukrainian warrior with "United Ukrainian Ballet" performed in California

The United Ukrainian Ballet Company, created in the Hague by local ballerina Igone de Jongh, held 4 charity concerts in America. The Ukrainian military Oleksandr Teren, who defended Ukraine if Kharkiv and lost his legs, also participated in the performance. First, the artists showed the ballet in 2 acts Giselle for 3.000 spectators. Then the troupe and Teren showed ballet about the war of Russia in Ukraine. Teren had never performed ballet before, his journey in this field began in February 2023. Before that man defended Ukraine from Russian invaders. After the tragedy, Oleksandr was sent to rehabilitation and prosthetics to California.

And at the end of the ballet performance, the artists performed the anthem of Ukraine, unfurled the blue-yellow flag with the inscription "Make dance, not war." 

 The audience applauded standing and crying.

The artists organised a charity tour to draw the world's attention to the war in Ukraine and humanitarian aid for the Ukrainian people.
