The сentral hospital of the Self-Defense Forces in Tokyo is ready to receive some military fighters from Ukraine. The soldiers will be provided with all necessary medical care, from treatment to rehabilitation through physical therapy. Tokyo plans to start treating defenders of Ukraine in June.
The Japanese political representative said that such assistance was in response to a request from the government of Ukraine. It should be noted that the defenders of independence, the integrity of the country, and the security of citizens, suffer serious injuries. Ukrainian soldiers may receive heavy burns, as the Russian armed forces use prohibited phosphorus munitions. Also, the Ukrainian military, who were held captive by the occupiers, often return with grave consequences of improper detention conditions (inadequate food, lack of medical care, etc.) and torture.
In recent weeks, the Japanese government has increased support for Kyiv. Therefore, on May 18, Japanese defence minister Yasukazu Hamada arrived in Kyiv. During the business visit, the possibilities of peace and the treatment plan for the Ukrainian military will be discussed.
