Ministry of Defense Implements DOT-Chain Defence Weapons Marketplace for Military

A new digital system decentralizes procurement, cuts bureaucracy, and delivers drones to brigades in record time

Digital marketplace for weapons

The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has successfully launched DOT-Chain Defence, a unique digital system that functions as a weapons marketplace for military units.

The platform allows brigades to independently select and order UAVs and other necessary equipment in just a few clicks, eliminating unnecessary bureaucracy and lengthy approval chains.

Faster, simpler, decentralized procurement

Under the new system, the Defense Procurement Agency manages financial, legal, and logistical aspects. This reduced delivery times from months to weeks, with a record turnaround of just 5 days.

The pilot phase, with a budget of ₴600 million, has already proven effective:

  • 12 brigades supplied,

  • over 11,800 UAVs delivered,

  • worth ₴416 million.

The Ministry emphasized that the marketplace decentralizes procurement, making it simple, fast, and convenient, while granting brigades autonomy to choose what they need most.

Scaling up

The range of available equipment will continue to expand, with more units expected to join the system. In parallel, the Cabinet of Ministers allocated an additional ₴2 billion to reinforce the Army of Drones. Bonus project, ensuring sustainable funding and scaling of the initiative.

Bottom line: DOT-Chain Defence marks a major step toward modern, decentralized procurement — empowering brigades, cutting red tape, and ensuring Ukraine’s army gets critical equipment faster than ever.
