New markets open as partnership with the Philippines deepens

Ukraine moves toward market access for agri and food products

The head of the State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection, Serhii Tkachuk, and the agency team are working to expand the geography of Ukrainian exports and strengthen positions on global markets.

During a working visit to the Philippines, a series of meetings outlined a clear vector for developing Ukrainian Philippine partnership in agriculture and trade. The goal is to expand the presence of Ukrainian agri products on the Philippine market.

Talks with Trade and Industry Minister Maria Cristina Aldeguer Roque confirmed mutual interest and moved to concrete steps that can open the market for Ukrainian producers in the near term.

At a roundtable with the Makati Business Club and the European Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines, demand for Ukrainian products was noted to be growing. This includes animal origin products, food additives, snacks, water, and confectionery.

A key next step is opening the market for animal origin products. In a meeting with acting deputy agriculture secretary for livestock Constante Palabrica, the sides aligned sanitary and veterinary requirements, procedures, and a roadmap to enable access for Ukrainian products.

The service maintains continuous dialogue with international partners and businesses and provides end to end support for exporters, from aligning requirements to entering new markets.
