Dmytro Kuleba and Serhiy Lavrov tried to negotiate an end to the war. However, as in several rounds of negotiations, it was not possible to reach a consensus.
Dmytro Kuleba from the Ukrainian side tried to agree on the creation of fair humanitarian zones on the territory of military operations, a 24-hour ceasefire to resolve important issues. He also called on the Russians to withdraw their troops from the nuclear power plants.
"Before the arrival of the troops of the Russian Federation, everything was fine with nuclear power plants. They say that Ukraine is developing nuclear weapons — this is a lie. The best thing Russia can do now is to withdraw its military from Ukrainian nuclear power plants," said Kuleba.
The Russian foreign minister stated that:
- Russia has not attacked Ukraine and will not attack other countries;
- Maternity home in Mariupol was the base of the Ukrainian battalion Azov, so Russia bombed;
- Nuclear war is unlikely to start.
The parties did not agree on a cease-fire and the withdrawal of troops from the legitimate territory of Ukraine. It is also noted that the representatives of the two countries discussed the possibility of a meeting between Zelenskyy and Putin.
