New Vatican Ambassador to Ukraine

On June 15, Pope Francis appointed Visvaldas Kulbokas, a Lithuanian former adviser to the Nunciature, as ambassador

"On Tuesday, June 15, 2021, the Vatican announced that Pope Francis had appointed Monsignor Visvaldas Kulbokas, the current Adviser of the Nunciature, as Apostolic Nuncio to Ukraine, and at the same time elevated him to the rank of the archbishop with the titular seat of Martana" says Vatican News

Visvaldas Kulbokas will be the sixth Apostolic Nuncio in Ukraine.  Diplomatic cooperation between Ukraine and the Holy See began on July 8, 1992. 

Recall that the Vatican voiced its readiness to help Ukraine within the framework of the Minsk agreements.
