The war in Ukraine showed that international conventions and laws are not necessary for the RF. Therefore, on 23 March 2022, the European Court of justice proposed to remove Russia from the list of signatory countries of the Convention on human rights. An international organization prepared and signed an instrument at that time. On 16 September, a decree removed Russia from the list of members.
Russian people are doomed because of the law's entry into force, excluding the aggressor country from the Council of Europe and a member of the Convention on human rights. Russian citizens will not be able to appeal to the European Court to protect human rights — only the state will decide who is faithful. However, the Court would continue to consider complaints against the Russian Federation. People could sue for actions or omissions of a country if they violated the Convention. The Court will consider all complaints that occurred only before the aggressor from the list of one of the parties to the contract was removed — until September 16, 2022.
