Norway Transferred the Final Batch of Bridges to Ukraine

The kingdom was one of the first to provide Ukraine with constructions for the restoration of bridges destroyed by the Russian war

On December 13, 2022, Norway sent the first batch of bridge structures to Ukraine, which was immediately sent to restore connections with populated areas cut off by the war. For example, the destroyed bridge over the Irpin river: people were forced to evacuate from Irpin, crossing the icy February waters.

Since last year, Norway has transferred 10 modular bridges designed for heavy vehicles to Ukraine. This is essential because not only food and humanitarian aid are delivered to Ukrainians through these bridges, but also emergency services, ambulances, repair services and even evacuation of the population in case of a repeated disaster. According to the state highway operator Ukravtodor, the total value of the donation from Norway is NOK 30 million.

It also became known that Ukrainian engineers will undergo training in Poland to work with this type of bridge structures.
