Zmiy Logistic is a Ukrainian armored unmanned ground platform designed for logistics, technical evacuation, and support missions in contested frontline zones. As of April 20, 2026, it is no longer a concept model but an operational platform family with official Ministry of Defense decisions and field use context.
Officially confirmed status
On January 30, 2025, Ukraine's Ministry of Defense announced codification and approval of Logistic Zmiy for use in Defense Forces units. The official description highlights ballistic and mine protection, cargo delivery in combat conditions, towing capacity for comparable-mass trailers, evacuation of light vehicles, quiet electric propulsion, and remote control from safer positions.
On January 7, 2026, the MoD also approved an armed reconnaissance variant: Zmiy Droid 12.7, equipped with a remote weapon module of 12.7 mm class.
Manufacturer-declared technical profile
According to RoverTech open specifications for Zmiy Logistic, the platform is positioned with payload capacity 500+ kg, traction effort around 700 kg, range 50+ km, speed up to 10 km/h, Starlink-linked control, and a two-operator crew model. The manufacturer also reports mobility focus for difficult terrain, including marsh and mine-risk sectors.
Separate company communication mentioned tests with 500 kg load over 10 km and high energy efficiency. In expert coverage, these values should be labeled as developer-declared figures unless repeated in official MoD technical releases.
Operational role on the battlefield
- Last-mile ammunition and supply delivery under fire risk.
- Extraction of cargo and light equipment from dangerous areas.
- Reduced exposure of personnel in high-threat corridors.
- Modular expansion for engineering and armed mission profiles.
The practical value of Zmiy is not just in one specification number, but in shifting routine high-risk logistics from people to protected robotic platforms.
