Online Auctions in Ukraine Generate Over ₴5.7 Billion in 2025

Land sales, privatization, and bankruptcy auctions lead earnings on Prozorro.Sales platform; more deals worth ₴3 billion are pending

Online auctions are proving to be one of the most efficient tools for public and commercial asset management in Ukraine, with billions flowing into state and local budgets. In the first seven months of 2025, more than 14,300 auctions were held via the Prozorro.Sales system, bringing in ₴5.71 billion in confirmed revenues.

💰 What Brings in the Most Money?

According to Prozorro.Sales data, the most profitable categories were:

  • Land sales and leases — ₴1.84 billion

  • Privatization of state and municipal property — ₴1.31 billion

  • Bankruptcy-related auctions — ₴821.4 million

  • Asset and property sales — ₴702.2 million

  • Commercial auctions (non-state assets) — ₴334.5 million

These results show a clear demand for real estate, land, and strategic assets, with competitive bidding driving prices higher than starting values in most cases.

📈 More Auctions = More Revenue

There’s even more income on the way:

  • Around 2,500 auctions are still in the deal-closing stage, potentially generating another ₴3 billion in proceeds.

  • As of August 4, over 7,200 new auctions were already listed in the system.

This pipeline signals continued momentum, particularly in land sales and municipal property privatization — sectors that remain attractive even during wartime.

🌾 Farmers and Land Auctions

A notable share of earnings comes from agriculture-related auctions. According to Prozorro.Sales, farmers have already paid over ₴1 billion (including VAT) for the right to sublease state-owned agricultural land — demonstrating that land use rights are now a central asset category in Ukraine’s open market system.

Key Takeaway:
Online auctions via Prozorro.Sales are becoming a strategic financial tool for Ukraine, enabling transparent monetization of public assets and supporting local and national budgets with billions in non-tax revenues. With growing investor interest and legal transparency, Ukraine is leveraging digital platforms to modernize its asset management and attract capital — even in wartime.
