Today was the first official visit of Zelenskyy and the first lady to Poland. As part of a solemn meeting at the Royal Castle, Andrzej Duda presented the president of Ukraine with the Order of the White Eagle. This is Poland's most honourable state award, and Zelenskyy received it for his work on deepening relations between Poland and Ukraine and his steadfastness in protecting human rights.
"It is a great honour for me to receive Poland's highest state award – the Order of the White Eagle – from President of Poland Andrzej Duda. It is for those who carry this victory on their shoulders. For the people of Ukraine, our military who defend our state, our independence, and definitely gain victory for Ukraine, for Poland, for all of Europe and the world," Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
We remind you that Ukrainians support the idea of Andrzej Duda to accept Russia's official repentance and its statement of capitulation in Pereyaslav — the town where Ukraine and Poland diverged 400 years ago. This symbolic gesture will restart the shared history of our wonderful peoples.
