Over 1,300 Ships Navigate Through Ukrainian Black Sea Humanitarian Corridor

As reported on April 29, more than 1,300 ships have utilized the Black Sea humanitarian corridor established by Ukraine and its international partners following Russia’s exit from the grain initiative

This statement was made by Serhii Kyslytsia, Ukraine's Ambassador to the United Nations, during his speech at a United Nations Economic and Social Council roundtable focused on global food insecurity.

Ambassador Kyslytsia highlighted that agricultural products from Ukraine are currently being shipped to 40 countries through this alternative sea corridor, surpassing the export volumes achieved during the entire duration of the Black Sea Grain Initiative. He confirmed that a total of 25 million tons of Ukrainian agricultural produce had been exported from the ports of Pivdenny, Odesa, and Chornomorsk, reaching levels comparable to pre-war exports.

Kyslytsia noted the efforts to enhance the capacity of all transport corridors and emphasized Ukraine's commitment to maintaining its role as a key player in global food security. "Even under these challenging circumstances, we are prepared to uphold our position as a guarantor of global food security," he stated. The diplomat also mentioned the "Grain from Ukraine" humanitarian program as a prime example of Ukraine's dedication to this cause.
