The Deposit guarantee fund for individuals is an institution that, on behalf of the state, guarantees the return of deposits to each depositor in the event of bank liquidation.
As of November 1, 2021, the total amount of deposits of individuals in the participating banks of the fund amounted to $23.1 billion, which is $64,6 million more than on October 1.
Of the total amount of deposits of individuals at the beginning of November 2021, deposits in national currency amount to $14,1 billion in foreign currency — $8.9 billion.
The fund recalled that when deposits in foreign currency are paid, they are transferred to the hryvnia at the official rate set by the National bank on the day the fund began withdrawing bank from the market.
Deposits of 98% of depositors in participating banks of the fund do not exceed $7342. Therefore, they are fully covered by the fund's guarantees. The total amount of these deposits is $8.8 billion.
The share of individual entrepreneurs in the structure of depositors is 3.4%. As of November 1, 2021, the amount of their deposits amounted to $2.2 billion (9.7% of the total amount of deposits).
As of November 1, 2021, there were 70 banks in the register of participants in the guarantee fund.
