On March 22, the mayor of the most romantic city in the world, Paris, announced a unique event: the city of Kyiv was awarded the title of honorary citizen of Paris.
"With this distinction, granted for the first time to a city, Paris expresses its friendship and support for the Ukrainian capital, which is fighting for its freedom," Anne Hidalgo, mayor of Paris.
In early April, the mayor visited Kyiv, where an agreement on cooperation between the capitals of Ukraine and France was signed. And today, the city council of Paris ratified the agreement.
"The honorary citizen of the city of Paris, the city of Kyiv, is now bound by a cooperation agreement, for which our council unanimously voted this morning. Paris stands next to the people of Kyiv and their municipality for peace and the restoration of the Ukrainian capital,'' Arnaud Ngatcha, deputy mayor of Paris.
The agreement includes development in educational, cultural, digital fields, etc.
