In 2020, Barbie doll manufacturer Mattel created a doll in honour of the Ukrainian Olympic fencing champion Olga Kharlan. The doll is part of the Barbie Role Models collection.
World Sports for Ukraine, the charity organisation Ukraine Alive 2022, and the Belarusian Sport Solidarity foundation put up on eBay the only replica of a personal Barbie Olga. On August 29, she was sold for $10.400.
"This Barbie doll is unique not only because it is the only one in the world, but also because it is the personification of a girl who finds the motivation to do her best at any time and in any condition, who sets an example for little girls to strive for their dreams and achieve their goals," Olga Kharlan.
Proceeds from the sale will be transferred to the Ukrainian BODRO clinic (cheerful in Ukrainian — ed.), which is engaged in the rehabilitation of Ukrainian soldiers injured during military battles.
