"We spoke yesterday with Ukraine's ambassador to Poland, who expressed great interest in the vaccines. There are still not enough vaccines in Ukraine, and there are more people who want to be vaccinated than there are vaccines available. So, we want to send vaccines that are in storage to Ukraine," said Polish deputy health minister Waldemar Krask.
Poland has 8,6 mln vaccines, and preparations with a short shelf life will be transferred to Ukraine. The vice-minister added that the decision to resell the vaccines will be made with the idea that the preparations will not spoil.
Poland resells coronavirus vaccines to a number of countries, in particular Australia, Spain, Portugal, Norway and Ukraine.
Earlier, the Estonian government sent 52,800 doses of AstraZeneca coronavirus vaccine to Ukraine. In total, Estonia will transfer 200,000 doses of the drug to Ukraine.
