Prime Minister of Portugal Supported Zelenskyy

Prime minister of Portugal Antonio Costa visited the destroyed by occupiers Irpin and met with the head of Ukraine

"I will never forget the visit to Irpen. The level of destruction and violence is crushing. I have witnessed brutal, arbitrary, and unjustified attacks. War always affects innocent people. Families who had a life here, a job, had to leave everything to try to save their lives. More striking to me is the violence against civilians," Antonio Costa reported on his presence in Ukraine.

The prime minister of Portugal arrived in the country at the invitation of Ukrainian colleague Denys Shmyhal. The guest expressed support for the Ukrainian people and government.

After visiting Irpin, Antonio Costa met with Volodymyr Zelenskyy and representatives of the press. A joint press conference was held on Europe Day. This was noticed by the head of the Ukrainian state.

The guest spoke about the readiness to help Ukraine rebuild educational institutions after the end of the war. The prime minister of Portugal also referred to the transfer of aircraft and other equipment.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy answered the question of journalists about the requests to Portugal, in detail. Ukraine expects humanitarian aid from Lisbon. This kind of assistance is very necessary for Mariupol. But the Russian Federation does not allow Ukrainian buses and medics on the territory of the city. Ukraine, therefore, calls on other States to help. The president of Ukraine also thanked and asked to continue the supply of arms to free the territory from the occupiers, including Mariupol.

At a personal meeting, the politicians discussed the 6 sanctions package for Russia.
