Prince Harry and Polish Foreign Minister Arrive in Kyiv

Kyiv hosts a day of high-profile visits as Prince Harry, UK Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper, and Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski arrive for talks and support initiatives

Prince Harry’s Visit to Ukraine

On Friday, September 12, Britain’s Prince Harry arrived in Kyiv on an unannounced visit at the invitation of the Ukrainian government.

According to The Guardian, the Duke of Sussex stressed that he wants to do “everything possible” to support the recovery of Ukrainian servicemen wounded in the war with Russia.

Together with his Invictus Games Foundation team, Prince Harry will discuss new initiatives for rehabilitation and support programs for the thousands of injured soldiers.

UK Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper in Kyiv

On the same day, British Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper also arrived in Kyiv — her first foreign trip after being appointed to lead the UK Foreign Office.

According to Reuters, Cooper will announce a £142 million ($193 million) support package to help Ukraine through the winter and into 2026.

She is expected to meet with President Volodymyr Zelensky and other top officials to reaffirm the UK’s commitment to Ukraine’s defense and long-term resilience.

Visit of Polish Foreign Minister Sikorski

Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski also traveled to Kyiv, as confirmed by Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiga.

“Welcome to Kyiv, Radek! Against the backdrop of the escalation of Russian terror against Ukraine and provocations against Poland, we stand firmly together. Today we will hold substantive talks on our common security, Ukraine’s accession to the EU and NATO, as well as pressure on Moscow. I thank Poland for its leadership and support,” Sybiga emphasized.

A Day of International Support

The simultaneous visits of Prince Harry, Yvette Cooper, and Radosław Sikorski highlight Ukraine’s strong ties with its Western allies. The discussions in Kyiv are expected to focus on:

  • Security cooperation and NATO integration.

  • Winter support packages and humanitarian resilience.

  • Rehabilitation programs for wounded Ukrainian servicemen.

  • Joint pressure on Moscow through sanctions and coordinated diplomacy.

These high-profile visits underscore that Ukraine continues to receive both political support and practical assistance from its closest partners.
