Since 2019, Bartosz Cichocki, a career diplomat, has served as the ambassador of Poland to Ukraine. Ukrainians love him for the fact that during the full-scale Russian attack on Ukraine, Mr Cichocki was almost the only one from the entire European representation who did not leave Ukraine.
In ordinary times, the ambassador serves in the state for 4-5 years. And, probably due to "organizational and family circumstances", Jaroslaw Guzy will replace Cichocki in his post. Mr Guzy has not previously served in diplomatic missions and has rich experience in public service and social projects. Mr Guzy studied at the faculty of history and sociology at the Jagiellonian university, from 1988-1991 he studied at Yale university and did an internship in the US Congress. Since 1991, the future ambassador has worked as an adviser to the defence minister of Poland and participated in investment consultations regarding Ukraine and Poland.
Welcome, Mr Guzy.
