The Finnish news portal Yle published a comment by foreign minister Elin Valtonen regarding different ways to support Ukraine. One of these ways may be the licensed production of Patria armoured personnel carriers in our country. The Finnish equipment production can work with Ukraine on the same conditions it is already working with Poland.
"Of course, we are evaluating all the possibilities by which we can support Ukraine," Elina Valtonen said during a press conference.
Minister Valtonen said Finland is interested in developing the European defence industry, and Ukraine is interested in Finnish defence technologies. Common interests can become the basis for further mutual development.
"I think we have opportunities for cooperation," Antti Häkkinen, head of the Defence committee of the Finnish parliament, said.
We remind you that on August 23, negotiations were held in Kyiv between the Finnish prime minister Petteri Orpo and Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
