“Rakuten” Launched an Online Shopping Platform in Ukraine

On November 4, 2021, a large e-commerce company “Rakuten” launched an online shopping platform with a cashback service in Ukraine

The Rakuten Group is a global leader in Internet services, financial technology, digital content, and communications. The company's services are used by approximately 1.5 billion people around the world. It is a true ecosystem that consists of 14 services available in almost every European country.

In recent years, the Internet penetration in Ukraine has increased dramatically and now, according to Admitad Affiliate, is 67.6%. This has led to an increase in demand for e-commerce and mobile shopping services. As numerous studies show, the e-commerce market has tripled over the past 5 years. In 2020 alone, growth was 41%, the fastest growing in Central and Eastern Europe.

According to research by Rakuten Insight Cashback Loyalty Concepts, about a third of all e-purchases are made from a smartphone.

In addition to the growth of e-commerce, the impact of cashback on the consumer’s decision to buy is also worth noting. Research from Rakuten's strategy department showed that loyalty program bonuses were a key factor in purchasing products for 47% of those surveyed.

Bond and Visa conducted a loyalty survey in 2020. More than 68 thousand consumers from 34 countries were interviewed and more than 1000 loyalty programs were evaluated to obtain the data. The result can be summed up in one simple conclusion: partial refund services are valued by customers and motivate them to spend more. Therefore, the world leader in e-commerce Rakuten could not stand aside. And since the online shopping market in Ukraine is actively developing, this innovation is doubly relevant.

The user needs to register on the official Rakuten website, after which he will be able to make purchases in different online stores while refunding up to 30% of the money spent.

In order to withdraw the percentage from purchases, you need to accumulate a minimum amount of $6. After that, the funds can be received on a bank card from Visa or Mastercard.

For the convenience of its customers, Rakuten has created a chatbot in Viber, suggesting best offers and recommendations among many categories of goods and services, checking the cashback balance, and withdrawing the accumulated funds to bank accounts.

The company is constantly working to improve its software because it values its users and tries to meet their needs and emotional values. On these grounds, by the end of November, all participants who register on the new cashback platform and make a purchase in excess of $19 within the first 10 days after registration will receive a congratulatory bonus in the amount of $4.5 and a voucher to activate the movie on the Rakuten TV service.
