Ukraine and the European Commission agreed on mutual cooperation within the framework
From now on, Ukraine and the European Commission will mutually recognize the decisions of the Hague Convention on the Recognition and Enforcement of Foreign Judgments in Civil or Commercial Matters. This means that from now on, the EU and Ukraine will recognize and implement each other's court decisions in the two above-mentioned areas.
"With this decision to recognise and enforce each other’s judgments the ties between the EU and Ukraine will only become stronger," Gunnar Strommer, the minister of justice of Sweden.
The member states of the European Union believe that there are no obstacles to Ukraine joining The Hague Judgments Convention. In Ukraine, it will enter into force in September 2023.
