Ursula von der Leyen and Charles Michel presented a joint idea for a register of the destruction caused by the Russian war in Ukraine. This register will be one of the tools of the Hague Court to bring Russia to full and fair responsibility.
"In Reykjavik, we will discuss how to hold Russia accountable. I support the creation of a tribunal to bring Russian crimes of aggression to justice. We will also decide on the creation of a register of destruction in The Hague. This will be a first step, but a very good one, towards Russian compensation," Ursula von der Leyen.
"The main topic will be Russia's responsibility for the aggression against Ukraine. I am very glad that we will have a register, which is so important for the administration of justice. Justice is one of the conditions for a just world."
We remind you that on April 16-17, the European Council summit is being held in the capital of Iceland. And today, the EU is looking for ways to confiscate Russian funds frozen by sanctions and transfer them to our country. For example, about $300 billion has been authorized in the G7 countries today. Ukraine and the United States have already begun this practice.
