British fintech giant Revolut has commenced operations in Ukraine, enabling Ukrainians to open European bank accounts and make instant, free transfers through its platform

To mark the launch, the company introduced the special “Clear Sky” debit card, which aims to support UNHCR (the UN Refugee Agency) through a donation initiative.

  1. Instant, Free Transfers

    • Users in Ukraine can now open a European Revolut account and enjoy no-fee transfers among Revolut customers.
    • The app also provides a seamless onboarding process through the Diia (Action) platform, ensuring secure and efficient user verification.
  2. Clear Sky Debit Card

    • No-cost issuance for Ukrainians: Users can request the Clear Sky card free of charge.
    • Charitable Contribution for others: International users can receive the card by donating at least £5 (or equivalent in UAH).
    • Double Donation Matching: Revolut pledges to match the total donations up to £200,000.
    • Beneficiary: All donated funds go to UK for UNHCR, supporting internally displaced people and refugees in and outside Ukraine.
  3. Increased Financial Flexibility

    • With Revolut’s launch, Ukrainians gain enhanced access to international banking tools, including multi-currency balances, virtual cards, budgeting features, and foreign exchange services.
    • The expansion also underscores global financial support for Ukrainians, as major fintech players recognize the country’s growing digital finance market.

Why Revolut’s Entry Matters
