Roadmap for Ukraine’s NATO Accession to Be a Key Focus at Alliance’s 75th Anniversary Summit

US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken has highlighted the preparation of a roadmap for Ukraine’s accession to NATO as a primary agenda item for the Alliance’s 75th-anniversary summit, scheduled for July in Washington

During a joint press conference with French Foreign Minister Stephane Sejournay, Blinken reiterated the allies' commitment, as stated at the summit in Vilnius, to Ukraine's future membership in NATO. The focus now turns to establishing a clear and effective roadmap or "bridge" to facilitate Ukraine's accession.

This announcement comes ahead of a series of diplomatic engagements involving Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba, including meetings with Western counterparts, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, and EU chief diplomat Josep Borrell at NATO headquarters in Brussels on April 3-4. These discussions coincide with the Council of Foreign Ministers of NATO countries, marking Sweden's first participation as a full member of the Alliance.

The forthcoming summit and meetings underscore the international community's continued support for Ukraine amid ongoing conflict and emphasize the strategic importance of Ukraine's integration into Euro-Atlantic security structures.
