On June 30, Bulgaria's Maritime rescue coordination center received an alarm about the discovery of a floating mine 27 nautical miles east of the mouth of the Kamchia River. In the evening, the mine was found, the coordinates were transferred to the Naval Forces. Military experts analyzed the object as an anchor mine of the Yam type. A few hours later, the mine was destroyed by detonator divers. The controlled explosion was carried out successfully.
It is known that this is not the first mine that fell off the place of fixation. Twice Russian mines surfaced in the Bosphorus, and several times mines washed up on the shores of Ukraine, in particular, in the Odesa region.
