The awards recognize outstanding athletes, coaches, managers, journalists, and patrons who contribute to the development of Ukraine’s sports industry. This year’s awards also honored innovative projects and key figures in sports marketing.
A Star-Studded Ceremony
The awards were presented at the Kyiv Event Hall by Ramada Encore. Over two months, the sports community submitted their best cases to compete in more than 20 categories, such as “Creative of the Year,” “Charity Project of the Year,” “Sports Journalist of the Year,” “Event of the Year,” and “Athlete of the Year.” The jury included more than 60 experts, among them renowned athletes, marketers, and media professionals.
The ceremony was hosted by a quartet of celebrated Ukrainian television personalities: Oleksiy Dushka (My-Ukraine+), Oleg Panyuta (My-Ukraine), Yulia Galushka (My-Ukraine), and Oleksandra Kucherenko (MEGOGO).
Top Honors and Notable Winners
“This has been a significant year for Ukrainian sports, full of high-profile events, major victories, and great examples of cooperation between business and sports,” said Oleksiy Braga, CEO of Sport&Business Club Ukraine. “I am grateful to our jury for their impartial judgment and sincerely congratulate the winners on their well-deserved awards!”
Athlete of the Year: Boxer Oleksandr Usyk received this prestigious title, acknowledging his achievements over the past year.
Sportswoman of the Year and Creative of the Year: Fencer Olga Kharlan earned dual recognition for her athletic prowess and her creative collaboration with Playboy magazine.
Sports Organization of the Year: The Fencing Federation of Ukraine claimed the top honor in this category, reflecting its contribution to Ukrainian sports development.
Event of the Year: The judges recognized the historic bronze medals of the Ukrainian team at the Futsal World Championship as the standout sporting event of the year.
FC Kryvbas’ website was named the best sports organization website, highlighting its high-quality digital presence.
Celebrating Marketing and E-Sports Innovations
In the category that celebrates the most influential and creative marketing campaigns, the Ukrainian company FAVBET emerged victorious with its “Game Reveals You” sponsorship project, earning the “Advertising Campaign of the Year” title.
FAVBET Team (CS2) also received an award as the “E-Sports Organization of the Year,” reflecting the growing importance and recognition of e-sports in Ukraine.
Acknowledging Social Contributions
Several important social initiatives were honored. The “Aerial Intelligence League,” a joint project by the Ukrainian Premier League (UPL) and 1+1, was recognized as the “Best Social Project of the Year.” In addition, the “#BattleForLight” project by DTEK, carried out in partnership with Oleksandr Usyk, received a special “Recognition of the Year” distinction, underscoring its positive social impact.
The SBC Ukraine Awards 2024 not only celebrated the sporting achievements of Ukrainian athletes and organizations but also highlighted the importance of marketing, social responsibility, innovation, and community support. This year’s winners set a new standard, reflecting the dynamic growth and diversification of the Ukrainian sports landscape.
