Sean Penn Arrived in Kyiv to Meet With Zelenskyy for the 3rd Time
Volodymyr Zelenskyy spoke about the current situation in the country. The interlocutors discussed the possibilities for supporting Ukraine and keeping the world's attention on the tragic events. Penn said that his work on a film about Ukraine continues and handed Zelenskyy his Oscar. The statuette, as a symbol of faith in Ukraine's victory, will be in Kyiv until the war's end. After the war, Oscar returned to Sean Penn.
The participants of the meeting walked the Walk of the Brave. The president drew the actor's attention to the fact that the alley begins precisely with Sean Penn's plaque because he arrived in Ukraine on the very first day of Russia's attack on Ukraine to record the reality in our country, on 24 February, and show the world what Russia is.
"We are highly grateful to all the people who came in person to support Ukraine and our citizens. And we wanted to have a place thanks to which present and future generations of Ukrainians will remember those brave people who stood with Ukraine from the very beginning," Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
Sean Penn was touched by the embodiment of Ukrainians' gratitude to the screenwriter — a plaque on the Walk of the Brave on Constitution Square. The actor emphasized that now this place will be one of the most iconic places in his life — next to the birthplaces of his children.
