According to the preliminary assessment of the European Union, Ukraine has fulfilled only 2 conditions of the European Commission. As soon as all 7 recommendations are fulfilled, negotiations on Ukraine's accession to the European Union will begin.
On June 23, at a regular meeting of the National security and defence council of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that Ukraine would fulfil all recommendations by the end of the year. The NSDC discussed the main tasks on the way to the EU.
"For each such area, the National security and defence council gave the necessary protocol instructions. I am sure that all of them can be fulfilled. Today is exactly one year since Ukraine received the status of a candidate for EU membership. And this year, the goal is to start negotiations on membership," Zelenskyy.
We are glad that EU ambassador Matti Maasikas is present in Ukraine and guides Ukraine's decisions. For example, the ambassador suggested resuming e-declaration for government employees.
