State food and consumer service: exports to China increased by 44%

In the first two months of 2021 alone, Ukraine exported more than $ 1 billion worth of products to China

Growth compared to the same period last year was 44%. This was announced by the Head of the State food and consumer service Vladislava Magaletskaya.

"Exports to China have been growing steadily since the beginning of the year, despite the fact that last year we also increased sales of goods to China. I am convinced that Ukraine will make every effort to continue to be a reliable supplier of food to a strategically important market for us", — said Vladyslava Magaletska.
The issues of maintaining the dynamics of trade growth were discussed with the Ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of China to Ukraine Mr. Fan Xiangong during a meeting with Zhao Li, counselor-envoy for Trade and commerce at the Chinese Embassy in Ukraine, representatives of the Ministry of economy and diplomats.

One of the important topics for discussion was phytosanitary and China's requirements for Ukrainian barley, corn, sunflower oil, and wheat. In addition, the opening of new markets for Ukrainian producers was considered.

The State food and consumer service play an important role in the efficiency of Ukrainian exports. Its task is to overcome technical barriers to trade and provide state guarantees for compliance with the requirements of partner countries.

In 2015, the National development and reform commission of the PRC, the Ministry of foreign affairs and the Ministry of trade of China jointly issued a roadmap (vision and actions for the joint construction of the Silk road and the 21st-century Maritime silk road), highlighting five priorities of the initiative. as:
1. policy coordination (promoting intergovernmental cooperation)
2. promotion of communications (improvement of road, energy and information infrastructure); unimpeded trade (removal of trade and investment barriers)
3. financial integration (deepening of financial cooperation, expansion of bilateral currency settlements
4. creation of new financial institutions)
5. links between people (promotion of cultural and educational exchanges, strengthening cooperation on tourism and information on epidemics). The initiative also covers strengthening cooperation in the field of energy and environmental protection.
